The raw pashmina coming from sources is full of dust
and other impurities, slightly greasy and mixed with the coarse outer hair of
goat, in working with these fine delicate materials the skill of kashmiri spinners
reach its peak the kind of passion they show to remove the dust and other
impurities from raw pashmina to make it yarn is exceptional. The first task is
to rid it of the coarse hair. This is done by hand ,each small tuft of the
pashmina being teased out and the hairs removed one by one .in the process ,
naturally a great deal of dust also comes out . The unorganised nature of this
sector actually allows house bounded women’s to work from their home they are
the bosses of their own time another thing happen with unorganised sector the
skill which motherposses naturally transferred to his daughter because the
spinning is not a 10am to 4pm job .
