As you all know that paper mache work in Kashmir which was brought in by Zain-ul-Abadin after his return from captivity in Samarkand. At that time it was one of the main employment source to the people of Kashmir, may be with the passage of time things have changed but the basics are still there without whom you cannot expect such an amazing products of paper mache
                          What is papier mache

The basic of paper mache is still same you need pulp wood, mud and walls. The first  paper mache products in Kashmir were kalamdans , long horizontal cases for holding pens, brushes and ink –pots ,but nowadays the range of products is much bigger than earlier nowadays you can see amazing products available in the market .

Embroidery in kashmir

Embroidery is the craft of decorating fabrics or other materials using a needle to apply threat or yarn. Walking down in the streets you can see artisans sitting near window in their homes with fabric on their knees empty threads basket and roll of thread spread out on the floor.
